GRANT, OR, (July 10, 2026) – A 16-year-old Grant Union High School student was killed early Friday morning in a single-vehicle crash along Highway 395 in Grant County, according to the Oregon State Police.
Authorities said the collision occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. when a northbound Toyota Prius was traveling at a high rate of speed. Investigators reported that the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, skidded across the southbound lane, crossed the gravel shoulder, and traveled down a steep embankment.
Timber Winegar was a passenger in the vehicle. Police said Winegar was ejected during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Oregon State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. No additional details regarding the driver or any other occupants have been released.
