Three hurt in Pontotoc County rollover crash with Joel Warren Wallace

PONTOTOC, OK, (April 04, 2026) – Three passengers were injured in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday on State Highway 377 in Pontotoc County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the vehicle was driven by 23-year-old Joel Warren Wallace when it left the roadway at about 4 a.m. and rolled over.

Two passengers were ejected from the vehicle. All three injured individuals were hospitalized.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

In many instances, the driver is responsible for single-vehicle crashes like the one that resulted in injuries to passengers.

According to Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney, such crashes can result from driver error, speeding, impaired driving, or other unsafe actions. In this case, speeding appeared to be a contributing factor. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) reports that about 53 percent of fatal crashes in the U.S. involve a single vehicle.

Bond noted that, in addition to police work, it is crucial to have an independent investigation conducted promptly by an experienced attorney to preserve evidence and protect victims’ rights.

“In addition to a police report, an attorney will review what factors contributed to the crash,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national analyst with Accident Injury News. “An attorney can hire expert witnesses, check driver backgrounds, locate witnesses, and review insurance coverage. Acting as an advocate, a lawyer can guide injured victims while protecting their legal rights and best interests.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, the victims injured in this accident may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit.

Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, noted that the stress following a serious injury can disrupt all aspects of life, including family, work, finances, and overall well-being.

“It is important for victims to hire an attorney when filing a personal injury claim so they can negotiate with insurance companies,” Formica added. “Insurers often attempt quick settlements for less than a case is worth, but an attorney will advocate to ensure fair compensation and proper treatment.”
