WOOD, OH, (February 05, 2026) — A two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Wood County left one man dead and two others injured, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the collision occurred around 3:12 p.m. when the driver of a 2010 Honda Civic attempted to turn east onto U.S. 6 after exiting Interstate 75 and failed to yield.
The Honda was struck on the driver’s side by a westbound 2023 Lexus SUV. The Perrysburg driver of the Honda was transported by Life Flight to Mercy St. Vincent, where he later died from his injuries.
The Lexus driver and passenger, identified as Thomas Dierksheide of Bradner, were taken to Toledo Hospital. Authorities described their injuries as non-life-threatening.
The crash remains under investigation.
