Terry Ware injured in Dallas County tractor-trailer accident on Hwy 79

DALLAS, AR, (April 29, 2026) – Terry Ware, 65, was injured Wednesday afternoon in a crash involving multiple tractor-trailers at a Dallas County intersection.

According to State Police, the collision occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. when the driver of a semi-truck failed to yield to oncoming traffic at the intersection of U.S. Highway 79 and State Highway 273. The failure to yield led to a dangerous situation as another 18-wheeler attempted to avoid the first truck but instead collided with a Toyota Corolla.

Ware was a passenger in the Corolla and sustained injuries in the crash. He was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the Corolla was killed in the accident.

The incident remains under active investigation as officials work to determine all contributing factors.

SEMI-TRUCK ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), a wide range of issues can contribute to semi-truck accidents, such as brake defects, excessive speed, prescription medication use, unfamiliar roads, lane deviations, improper maneuvers, and driver fatigue.

Each year, approximately 150,000 individuals suffer injuries in crashes involving large trucks. Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst for Accident Injury News, emphasized that cases like these require an independent investigation to safeguard victims’ rights.

“Tractor-trailer crashes are often highly complex, with multiple contributing factors,” said Bond. “An experienced attorney can help protect victims from trucking companies, which frequently deploy rapid-response investigation teams and have extensive resources to defend their drivers. Legal counsel can assist by securing expert testimony, reviewing driver histories, identifying witnesses, and analyzing insurance coverage, all while guiding families through a difficult process.”

The National Safety Council reports that large trucking accidents result in roughly 150,000 injuries and about 4,900 fatalities annually.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Terry Ware may be entitled to pursue a personal injury claim following the crash. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, explained that the aftermath of a serious injury often places immense strain on victims, affecting their family life, employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“It is crucial for injury victims to retain legal representation when filing a personal injury claim,” Formica said. “An attorney can handle negotiations with insurance companies on behalf of the client. Insurers often attempt to settle quickly for far less than a claim’s true value, but a skilled lawyer will advocate strongly to ensure fair compensation and respectful treatment.”
