FORT BRADEN, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run accident that killed a bicyclist in the Fort Braden community late Sunday night.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Highway 20 and Jay Bird Lane.
Teresa Stitely was riding her bicycle when a vehicle struck her. The driver fled the scene after the collision.
FHP identified the suspected vehicle as a white, older-model SUV, possibly a Tahoe or Yukon. The SUV is missing its front bumper and has heavy damage on the right front side.
Officials believe the vehicle was driving toward Tallahassee after the collision.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the vehicle to contact authorities immediately. FHP continues searching for the driver and vehicle involved.
