LAUDERDALE, AL, (April 30, 2026) – Teresa D. Bretherick, a Tennessee resident, died Thursday morning following a two-vehicle crash along U.S. Highway 43 in Lauderdale County.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the collision occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. near the intersection of County Line Road 73. Authorities said a Jeep Cherokee struck a Jeep Wrangler, causing the driver of the Wrangler to be ejected from the vehicle.
Bretherick, of Saint Joseph, Tennessee, was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for emergency treatment but later succumbed to her injuries.
A 57-year-old passenger traveling with Bretherick, from Florence, was also airlifted for medical care. Additionally, two 18-year-old occupants of the Cherokee sustained injuries and were hospitalized, ALEA reported.
State troopers are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
