Teen girls die in Adams County crash; Perez-Pineda Arrested

ADAMS, WA, (April 26, 2026) – Three teenage girls were killed Sunday afternoon in a violent two-vehicle crash in Adams County, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. A 19-year-old driver from Othello has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Officials said a white 2019 Mercedes-Benz sedan driven by Presiliano Perez-Pineda was traveling east on Bench Road near Othello around 12:20 p.m. when it attempted to pass a Chevrolet Silverado carrying the three girls. The Mercedes-Benz reportedly drifted into the westbound lane and struck the driver’s side of the truck.

The impact forced the pickup off the roadway and into an irrigation canal. Authorities said all three teenage passengers were ejected and later found dead in the water near the vehicle.

Perez-Pineda was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of three counts of vehicular homicide and additional charges.

The investigation remains ongoing.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Several factors contribute to rising traffic fatalities, but driver behavior remains central, including speeding, impaired driving, and distracted driving, particularly cellphone use. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported 8,055 deaths from motor vehicle crashes in the first quarter of 2025.

While authorities continue investigating this crash, Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, emphasized the importance of independent legal investigation.

“In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview key witnesses, analyze any available surveillance footage from the scene, and obtain phone and texting records from involved parties,” said Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News.

She added that timely evidence preservation is essential in fatal crash cases to ensure a full and accurate understanding of what occurred.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the families of the victims killed in the crash may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim. Families in such cases may seek damages for loss of companionship, emotional distress, pain and suffering, and other related losses.

“We understand that losing a loved one is not only emotionally devastating but also financially challenging,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal.

“If you have lost a loved one due to negligence, it is important to contact a wrongful death attorney to understand your rights and pursue justice.”

Formica also noted that insurance companies may attempt to limit compensation or deny claims, making legal representation essential to protect families’ interests.
