LINCOLN, Ill. — A Springfield man faces multiple charges following a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred early Thursday morning, June 5, near Lincoln, Illinois.
According to Illinois State Police, 47-year-old Sylvester Anderson crashed around Old Route 66 near 1500th Avenue. While Anderson was hospitalized for his injuries, the other driver—a 27-year-old from Bloomington—died at the crash site.
Authorities cited Anderson on several violations including driving under the influence, improper lane usage, failing to reduce speed to prevent a collision, operating a vehicle with an expired license, and unlawful alcohol transport.
ISP continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
