JOLIET, Ill.— A two-vehicle accident on Essington Road claimed one life and left two people injured on April 10, authorities confirmed.
Officials identified Susan Wallace, a 77-year-old woman from Joliet, as the victim killed in the accident. Emergency responders transported Wallace to Ascension St. Joseph’s Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Investigators reported that Wallace was a passenger in an SUV that turned in front of a southbound pickup truck. The truck hit the SUV, resulting in minor injuries to both drivers.
The collision happened at around 7:45 a.m.
The Will County Coroner’s Office confirmed Wallace’s death and stated that the crash remains under investigation.
