CRANE COUNTY, Texas— Authorities are investigating a head-on accident involving a tractor-trailer and a car that claimed one life on Farm-to-Market 1053 on April 16.
The accident occurred north of the FM-1233 intersection around 10:20 a.m. A northbound 2016 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer experienced a tire blowout, veered into the southbound lane, and struck a 2025 Volkswagen Jetta.
Officials identified Susan Komanetsky, a 32-year-old woman, as the driver of the Volkswagen. Emergency responders pronounced Komanetsky dead at the scene.
The Texas Department of Public Safety stated that the tractor-trailer caught fire after the accident. The driver of the truck, a 59-year-old man, was not injured.
