Steven Hadley killed in fiery high-speed Corvette crash in Opa-locka

OPA LOCKA, FL, (April 26, 2026) — A 35-year-old man, identified as Steven Hadley, died Sunday morning in a fiery crash involving a speeding vehicle in Opa-locka, according to Miami-Dade authorities.

Deputies said Hadley was driving a Chevrolet Corvette at a high rate of speed when he lost control and struck several parked vehicles. The impact also caused the car to crash into a nearby residence, Opa-locka police reported.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:10 a.m. in the area of Northwest 135th Street and 27th Avenue.

Hadley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two women who were inside the vehicle were critically injured and airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami for emergency treatment.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Residents in the area report that speeding and traffic collisions are frequent concerns, while the crash remains under investigation.

Candice Bond, a well-known accident attorney, emphasized the importance of immediate independent investigation to preserve crucial evidence.

“In addition to the official police report, an attorney will carefully evaluate all potential contributing factors to the crash,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national analyst for Accident Injury News. “Attorneys have access to expert witnesses, background checks on drivers, witness identification, and insurance analysis. They serve as advocates to support victims and ensure their legal rights are protected during a difficult time.”

Such crashes may involve multiple contributing factors, including impairment, speeding, distracted driving, fatigue, or reckless behavior.

The National Transportation Safety Board reports that over 19,000 people are injured annually in U.S. roadway crashes, many of which are preventable.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIMS

Depending on the investigation, the two women injured in the crash may be entitled to pursue personal injury claims for medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, and emotional trauma.

“Passengers injured in a crash have several legal options when seeking compensation,” Bond said. “A claim can be filed through the insurance policy of the vehicle they were in if the driver is found liable. This does not affect their own insurance coverage, as the claim is made against a separate policy.”

“When crashes result from reckless, distracted, or impaired driving, victims often have the right to pursue civil action,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal.
