COCKE, TN (July 3, 2026) — A North Carolina motorcyclist was killed Friday evening after a minivan turned into his path at a Cocke County intersection, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Authorities identified the victim as 31-year-old Solomon Sealbury Sutton of North Carolina.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. when a 2005 Dodge Caravan attempted to make a left turn onto Highway 107 from East Highway 25/70 and collided with an eastbound motorcycle. Both vehicles came to rest in the intersection following the impact.
Sutton, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said charges against the driver of the Dodge Caravan are pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
