DPS: Sheri Centner injured in Potter County wreck on Bushland Rd.

POTTER, TX, (March 24, 2026) – A crash involving a semi-truck and a pickup left one person dead and two others seriously injured Tuesday morning in Potter County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision occurred at about 8:39 a.m. at the intersection of Interstate 40 Service Road and Bushland Road. A semi-truck turning north was struck by a southbound Ford F-150.

Sheri Ann Centner, a passenger in the pickup, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Northwest Texas Hospital. The pickup driver died at the scene, while the semi-truck driver was also hospitalized.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

A fully loaded semi-truck can weigh up to 80,000 pounds, far exceeding the weight of a typical passenger vehicle. This disparity often results in more severe injuries for occupants of smaller vehicles.

In 2023, approximately 2.2 million people were injured in motor vehicle accidents nationwide, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

While authorities continue to investigate the cause of this crash, Candice Bond, an experienced accident attorney and Managing Partner of Bond Legal, stressed the importance of an independent investigation.

“In addition to law enforcement efforts, an attorney can re-examine witness statements, review surveillance footage, and obtain phone and text records of the parties involved,” said Bond, a national legal analyst for Accident Injury News.

“Timely action is critical in these cases to ensure that evidence is preserved and thoroughly analyzed,” Bond added.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, Sheri Ann Centner may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, noted that serious injuries can significantly impact every aspect of a victim’s life.

“The physical, emotional, and financial strain following a serious accident can be overwhelming,” Formica said.

“It is important for victims to work with an attorney who can negotiate with insurance companies on their behalf. Insurers often attempt to settle claims quickly for less than their true value, but legal representation ensures that victims are treated fairly and receive appropriate compensation.”
