Sharon Prentice Killed, SUV collide Pickup in Clackamas on Hwy 99E

CLACKAMAS, OR, (April 27, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision Monday in Clackamas County left one person dead and seven others injured, according to Oregon State Police.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Sadly, about 36,000 people lose their lives in motor vehicle accidents each year in the United States.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, speeding was the leading cause of fatal crashes in 2018, followed by impairment from alcohol, drugs, or medication; failure to maintain proper lane position; failure to yield the right of way; and distracted driving.

Candice Bond, an experienced accident attorney, noted that crashes like this can occur for numerous reasons, including driver inexperience, failure to follow traffic laws and safety measures, reckless behavior, unfamiliar road conditions, and impaired driving.

“Every case is different and requires a comprehensive investigation. Time is critical in incidents such as these, and the victim’s family must ensure evidence is reviewed promptly,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national analyst for Accident Injury News.

“Beyond the initial police findings, an attorney will thoroughly assess all contributing factors involved in the crash,” Bond added.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the family of Sharon Lyn Prentice may have the right to file a wrongful death claim. Families who lose a loved one in such incidents may pursue compensation for loss of companionship, emotional suffering, and other damages resulting from the tragedy.

“The emotional and financial strain after losing a loved one in a crash can be overwhelming,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal.

“We understand the challenges families face during this time, and protecting their legal rights is essential. A wrongful death attorney will monitor the investigation closely and work to ensure that the family’s best interests are fully represented.”
