FATAL HIT-AND-RUN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, hit-and-run accidents have reached a record high in the U.S.

In a single year, AAA recorded 900,000 incidents, which resulted in 2,400 injuries and 2,872 fatalities. Leaving the scene of an accident is a crime, but statistics show that more than one hit-and-run crash occurs every minute on U.S. roads. Many suspects flee because they are intoxicated, driving without a license, or fear arrest if they remain at the scene.

Candice Bond, an experienced hit-and-run accident attorney, said that in cases such as this, an independent investigation conducted by a seasoned attorney is essential to protect the rights of a victim’s family.

“Having the proper resources is crucial to investigate a hit-and-run accident case and prove negligence,” said Bond, a Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst with Accident Injury News. “Road conditions, signage visibility, and road lighting are all potential contributing factors that are considered and must be thoroughly examined. These procedures are necessary for helping someone who has lost a loved one at the hands of a hit-and-run driver receive the justice and monetary compensation that they deserve.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family members of Shanniece McDowell may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain, suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident.

“We understand just what families are forced to go through, and having their rights protected is vital,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “A wrongful death attorney can stay informed about the official investigation and help ensure that the family’s best interests are protected. Relatives of wrongful death victims are entitled to seek damages for the loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident.”
