Shamika Shante Milton hurt in Camden AR road accident

CAMDEN, AR (April 03, 2026) – Shamika Shante Milton, 39, was injured in a single-vehicle crash Friday evening in Camden, according to State Police.

Authorities said Milton was a passenger in a Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 48-year-old man traveling northbound on Cash Road near Washington Street at about 5:09 p.m. when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Milton was transported to Ouachita County Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The crash remains under investigation. No GoFundMe has been reported.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), about 20 percent of motor vehicle crash deaths occur when a vehicle leaves the roadway and strikes a fixed object.

Trees, utility poles, and traffic barriers are among the most frequently impacted objects. Single-vehicle crashes, which made up 53% of accidents in 2022, are often linked to driver-related factors such as speeding, distraction, or impairment.

While officials continue to examine the cause of the crash, Candice Bond, an experienced accident attorney and Managing Partner of Bond Legal, emphasized the importance of an independent investigation by a qualified attorney.

“In addition to the work done by law enforcement, an attorney can revisit key witness statements, review any available surveillance footage, and obtain phone and texting records of the responsible party,” said Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News. “Time is critical in these cases, and injured victims should ensure that all evidence is promptly and thoroughly reviewed.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Shamika Shante Milton may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, explained that the aftermath of a serious injury can bring significant stress, affecting a person’s family life, employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“Although financial compensation cannot undo a serious injury, it is essential that victims understand their legal rights and what they may be entitled to,” Formica added. “An injured victim in a crash like this may pursue compensation for medical costs, future treatment, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.”
