Semi-Truck Crash Injures Tyler Russell Brown in Brewster

BREWSTER, MN, July 1, 2026 — A 39-year-old South Dakota man was injured in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon involving two tractor-trailers in Brewster, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

MSP identified the injured driver as Tyler Russell Brown. Officials say Brown was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup eastbound on Minnesota State Highway 60 at approximately 4 p.m. when the crash occurred.

At the time of the collision, an International semi-truck was traveling southbound on Nobles County 1, while a Mack semi-tractor-trailer was stopped at a stop sign on the south side of Nobles County 1. All three vehicles were involved in the collision, and Brown’s Silverado rolled into the eastbound ditch.

Brown was transported to Sanford Worthington Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the crash. No further details have been released at this time.

SEMI-TRUCK CRASH INVESTIGATION

A fully loaded tractor-trailer can weigh up to 80,000 pounds, meaning a collision with a big rig can result in catastrophic damage and injury.

Several factors can contribute to a semi-truck crash, including loss of control, tire blowouts, disabling or non-disabling vehicle failures, excessive speed, lane drifting, improper truck maneuvering, and driver fatigue. The National Safety Council estimates that large trucking accidents injure approximately 150,000 people and kill an additional 4,900 each year.

Candice Bond, an experienced tractor-trailer accident attorney, noted that investigating tractor-trailer crashes requires a range of resources. On behalf of an injured victim, an attorney can examine the crash scene and closely review the rig and the trucking company’s logbooks and other records to help preserve critical evidence.

“Tractor-trailer crashes are often complex, and many factors can play a role in these types of accidents,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst with Accident Injury News. “A skilled attorney can protect a client from trucking companies, which often send their investigators to crash sites and possess a variety of resources they can utilize to defend a negligent truck driver. A lawyer can advocate for you by hiring expert witnesses, conducting driver background checks, locating witnesses to the crash, and reviewing applicable insurance coverage.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Tyler Russell Brown may have grounds to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, noted that the stress and uncertainty following a serious injury can be overwhelming, affecting nearly every part of a person’s life, including family, work, finances, and overall well-being.

“Although no amount of money can make up for a devastating injury, it is important that a victim is made aware of their rights and what they are entitled to by law,” Formica said. “The injured victim in this collision may be entitled to an injury claim, and they may seek recovery for damages including medical expenses, future medical care, pain and suffering, and emotional trauma.”
