Seidy Galiano Salinos killed in UTV rollover crash in Okeechobee

OKEECHOBEE, FL (May 16, 2026) — A 34-year-old passenger, Seidy Dariela Galiano Salinos, was killed following a utility terrain vehicle crash on private property in Okeechobee County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Officials said the crash occurred on May 16 near Northwest 240th Street when the driver of the UTV accelerated in soft sand and attempted a sharp turn, causing the vehicle to lose control and overturn.

Salinos was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover. She was airlifted to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, where she later died from her injuries.

Authorities confirmed that two other passengers sustained unspecified injuries in the crash.

The driver, identified as 25-year-old Blanca Yorleni Ruiz Dominguez, has been charged with DUI manslaughter and multiple misdemeanor counts of DUI causing property damage or injury.

A GoFundMe page has been created to help the Salinos family repatriate her body to Honduras and support her three children.

FATAL UTV ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), nearly 30 people die every day in the United States in alcohol-related crashes, averaging one death every 50 minutes. More than 10,000 fatalities occur annually due to drunk driving incidents.

Candice Bond, an experienced DUI accident attorney, commented that cases like this often require thorough legal review beyond the criminal proceedings.

“Separate from criminal charges, a victim’s family may be entitled to compensation through a civil lawsuit against the responsible party,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst for Accident Injury News. “In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview important witnesses, analyze any surveillance video from the scene of the crash and obtain phone and texting records of the liable party. Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help compassionately guide grieving families during this difficult time, protecting their legal rights while ensuring that drivers are held accountable for their reckless actions.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the family of Seidy Dariela Galiano Salinos may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim seeking compensation for medical expenses, funeral costs, loss of companionship, emotional suffering, and other damages related to the fatal crash.

“An incident is considered a wrongful death when a person or entity commits a negligent or wrongful act resulting in a fatality,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “When fatalities result from unsafe driving, reckless behavior, distraction, or driving under the influence, families are often left with the option to pursue civil action against the responsible party.”
