BOCA RATON, FL, (May 14, 2026) – A 90-year-old woman died Thursday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle inside the Boca West Country Club community in Boca Raton, authorities said.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Sandra Sparber Friedman.
Officials said the crash occurred around 1:09 p.m. on Planters Point Drive near Friedman’s residence. Investigators determined that a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee was navigating a left-hand curve when Friedman stepped from her driveway into the roadway and was struck by the vehicle’s front right side.
Friedman was initially reported to be suffering from hip pain and was transported to Delray Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities said the 83-year-old driver of the Jeep was not injured. No signs of alcohol or drug involvement were found, and no citations or charges have been issued at this time. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
