SAN RAMON, CA, (May 25, 2026) – Michael Bertalan, 45, tragically lost his life Monday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash along Dublin Boulevard in San Ramon, according to police.
Investigators said Bertalan, a San Ramon resident, was stopped in the right-turn lane of westbound Dublin Boulevard when his vehicle was struck from behind by a Lexus ES 350 traveling at a high rate of speed. Authorities stated the Lexus driver did not brake before the collision.
The impact triggered a chain-reaction crash involving five vehicles, leaving multiple people injured and causing major damage at the scene.
Bertalan was transported to a local hospital following the accident, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police said two additional victims suffered critical injuries in the crash. The collision remains under active investigation.
