San Bernardino Man Andrew Whitehead Killed in Accident, CA

SAN BERNARDINO, CA, July 1, 2026 — A 19-year-old man was killed in a traffic collision early Wednesday morning in San Bernardino, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP identified the victim as Andrew Whitehead. The crash took place at approximately 1:20 a.m. in the 4000 block of Valley of the Falls Drive.

Whitehead was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances leading up to the crash have not yet been publicly disclosed. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the collision, and no further details have been released at this time.

FATAL ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

Andrew’s family is now grappling with the sudden and painful loss of their loved one.

In the aftermath of a fatal crash, families are often encouraged to consult an attorney. Acting as an advocate, a lawyer can independently gather evidence surrounding the collision and negotiate with insurance companies, which frequently attempt to pressure grieving families into accepting settlements well below the true value of a wrongful death claim.

“Insurance companies are financially motivated to limit compensation and do not factor in the long-term consequences and suffering those victims will ultimately experience,” said Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney and Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

“Attorneys vigorously advocate for their clients to ensure that they are treated with respect and compensated fairly,” added Bond, a national analyst with Accident Injury News.

Every year, an estimated 36,000 people are killed and 1.9 million more are injured in motor vehicle crashes across the country. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that speeding is the leading cause of fatal crashes annually, followed by impairment from alcohol, drugs, or medication, improper lane usage, failure to yield the right of way, and distracted driving.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The surviving family members of Andrew Whitehead may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim. Relatives of wrongful death victims can seek compensation for loss of companionship, pain, suffering, and emotional distress stemming from a tragic or catastrophic accident.

“We understand just what families are forced to go through, and having their rights protected is vital,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “A wrongful death lawyer stays informed on the progress of the official investigation and works to protect the family’s best interests. Relatives of wrongful death victims have the right to pursue damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident.”
