Saginaw accident injures Oklahoma man; driver failed to yield

SAGINAW, MO, (April 26, 2026) – A 62-year-old Oklahoma man was seriously injured Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash at an intersection in Saginaw.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash occurred at approximately 11:46 a.m. at the intersection of South Rangeline Road and River Road. Investigators said a westbound 2024 Toyota RAV4 failed to yield and collided with a southbound 2017 Chevrolet Traverse.

Authorities reported that a passenger in the Chevrolet, identified as a man from Sand Springs, Oklahoma, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital – Joplin for treatment.

At least one other individual was also injured in the crash, though details regarding their condition were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation by the MSHP.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

According to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), nearly 40 percent of vehicle crashes occur at or near intersections. These incidents are often caused by drivers running stop signs or traffic signals. Common contributing factors include impatience, reckless driving, and distracted driving. Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney, noted that these types of cases often require an independent investigation to safeguard victims’ rights.

“It is essential to determine the exact cause of these accidents. An attorney has the ability to review insurance coverage, consult expert witnesses, conduct background checks, and locate witnesses. We guide victims and their families through the process,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

“In addition to the police report, an attorney will analyze all potential contributing factors,” Bond added. “Legal professionals can engage expert witnesses, examine driver histories, identify witnesses, and review insurance policies. Acting as an advocate, an attorney can help an injured victim navigate what may be a complex process.”

“Time is critical in cases like this, and it is important that evidence is preserved and reviewed promptly,” Bond said.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

The victim may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim pending an investigation.

Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal, said, “In many cases, injured victims seek personal injury claims to recover damages for medical expenses, ongoing treatment, lost income, emotional distress, and pain and suffering.”

“Insurance companies are often not fully responsive to the financial strain placed on injured victims. An attorney can help ensure accountability. We advocate for victims and work to hold insurers responsible,” he added.
