Rosebud man hurt in Can-Am UTV crash in Franklin County

FRANKLIN, MO, (March 28, 2026) – A 49-year-old Rosebud man was seriously injured Saturday night in a UTV crash in Franklin County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Authorities said the crash occurred around 11:47 p.m. on Flottmann Road near Flottmann Street when a westbound 2026 Can-Am Defender overturned while navigating a curve.

The man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur for treatment.

Additional details regarding the cause of the crash were not immediately available.

UTV CRASH INVESTIGATION

According to Consumer Product Safety Commission statistics, about 568 adults and 144 children die each year in ATV and UTV crashes, and many more are injured.

Candice Bond, a Managing Partner at Bond Legal and national analyst for Accident Injury News, said in such cases it is crucial to have an independent investigation conducted as soon as possible to preserve evidence.

“In addition to a police report, an attorney will carefully review all potential contributing factors to the crash,” said Bond, an experienced ATV accident attorney.

“An attorney has the resources to hire expert witnesses, conduct background checks, locate witnesses, and review applicable insurance coverage. Acting as an advocate, a lawyer can help guide an injury victim through what can often be a complicated process.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, the victim may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, noted that the stress and worry following a serious injury can be overwhelming, impacting all aspects of life, including family, work, finances, and overall well-being.

“It is important for victims to retain an attorney when filing a personal injury claim, allowing proper negotiation with insurance companies on behalf of the client,” Formica added.

“Insurance companies often attempt to pressure victims into accepting quick settlements for far less than a claim is worth. An attorney will strongly advocate to ensure the victim is treated fairly and receives appropriate compensation.”
