MARBLE FALLS, TX, (May 17, 2026) – Five people were killed Sunday evening in a devastating three-vehicle crash along U.S. 281 in Marble Falls, according to local authorities.
The Marble Falls Police Department said the collision occurred at approximately 5 p.m. in the 3100 block of South U.S. 281. Preliminary findings indicate that a northbound black Nissan pickup crossed the median into the southbound lanes, sideswiping a white BMW hatchback before colliding head-on with a silver Hyundai hatchback.
Authorities identified two of the victims as Ron Dykes, 55, and Roxanne Mowrey, 50, who were occupants of the Hyundai. Both were pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision.
Police also confirmed that the driver of the Nissan pickup, along with a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old girl traveling in the vehicle, died in the crash.
The occupants of the BMW were not injured, officials said.
Emergency responders and deputies from the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office assisted Marble Falls police at the scene as traffic was diverted for several hours during the investigation and cleanup operations.
Investigators continue working to determine what caused the Nissan pickup to cross the median. No additional details have been released.
