TX DPS reports Rolando Adame killed in FM 624 collision

JIM WELLS, TX (February 27, 2026) — A violent head-on crash Friday morning on FM 624 in Jim Wells County claimed the life of one passenger and left three others injured, authorities reported.

Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said a westbound pickup crossed into the eastbound lane near County Road 163, striking another pickup head-on. The impact caused the second vehicle to overturn off the roadway.

Rolando Adame, 72, of Corpus Christi, was a passenger in the struck vehicle and died at the scene. The driver of that vehicle was taken to Christus Spohn Shoreline with injuries. Both occupants of the westbound vehicle were hospitalized at Christus Spohn in Alice.

The investigation remains ongoing as troopers work to determine what caused the westbound pickup to cross the center line.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

“It is critical to determine the exact cause of accidents of this nature. Attorneys have the resources to review insurance coverage, hire expert witnesses, conduct background checks, and locate witnesses. We guide the family of the victim through every step of the process,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.

She added that in cases like this, conducting an independent investigation promptly is essential to preserve evidence.

“In addition to reviewing the police report, an attorney will examine all possible contributing factors to the crash,” Bond explained. “Legal counsel can retain expert witnesses, check drivers’ histories, interview witnesses, and review insurance coverage. Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help families and injured parties navigate what can be a complicated and emotional process.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the family of Rolando Adame may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim. Relatives of wrongful death victims can seek damages for loss of companionship, emotional distress, and pain and suffering following a tragic accident.

“The stress and grief families experience after losing a loved one in a crash can be overwhelming,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal.

“We understand the challenges families face, and protecting their rights is essential. A wrongful death attorney will monitor the investigation closely to ensure that the family’s legal rights and best interests are safeguarded,” Formica added.
