CPD: Robert Yoreck dies in Clarksville hit-and-run bicycle accident

CLARKSVILLE, TN, (April 27, 2026) – Robert Yoreck III, 49, of Clarksville, died Monday night after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle along Fort Campbell Boulevard, according to the Clarksville Police Department.

The collision occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of Fort Campbell Boulevard near a Waffle House. Authorities said Yoreck was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a vehicle under circumstances that remain under investigation.

Montgomery County EMS transported Yoreck to Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Officials have not identified the driver or the vehicle involved in the crash. Investigators have also not released information possible contributing factors such as speed or impairment.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Clarksville Police Department as the investigation continues.

BICYCLE CRASH INVESTIGATION

Bicyclists face significant dangers on roadways. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports 1,105 cyclists died in motor vehicle accidents in 2022, an 11 percent increase from the previous year. Most bicyclist deaths involve head injuries, emphasizing the importance of helmet use.

“Bicyclists are especially exposed on the road, and a range of factors can contribute to serious collisions,” said Candice Bond, a managing partner with Bond Legal.

“It is essential to determine the exact cause of these types of crashes. An attorney has the ability to examine insurance coverage, retain expert witnesses, conduct background checks, and locate witnesses. We help guide the victim’s family through each step of the process.”

Independent investigations should be carried out quickly to preserve critical evidence, added Bond, an experienced bicycle accident attorney.

“In addition to reviewing the police report, an attorney will closely analyze all potential contributing factors,” Bond said. “Legal counsel can engage experts, gather witness statements, perform background checks, and review insurance policies. Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help guide victims or their families through what can be a complex process.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family of Robert Yoreck may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. Families of wrongful death victims can seek compensation for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic accident such as this.

“The grief and stress after losing a loved one in an accident can be overwhelming,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal.

“We understand the challenges families face, and protecting their rights is essential. A wrongful death attorney will stay informed about the official investigation and help ensure that the family’s legal rights and best interests are fully protected.”
