Motorcyclist Robert Noble Died in Minivan Collision in Frenchtown

FRENCHTOWN, MI, (June 30, 2026) — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man fatally injured in a Tuesday morning motorcycle-minivan collision in Frenchtown Township.

Robert Noble, 66, of Trenton, was turning from southbound Telegraph Road onto westbound Newport Road at around 11 a.m. when a minivan entering the intersection from Newport Road struck his motorcycle.

Noble was pronounced dead at the scene.

The minivan’s driver and a juvenile passenger were released at the scene and sought medical treatment afterward as a precaution.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Services Division is investigating the crash.

MOTORCYCLE CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

In 2023, U.S. motorcycle fatalities reached a record 6,335, accounting for 15% of all traffic deaths and marking the deadliest year since 1975, according to the NHTSA. With a fatality rate of 31.39 per 100 million miles traveled, expanded motorist education and road safety measures remain critical to cutting down on preventable deaths.

“Motorcyclists are among the most vulnerable road users,” said Candice Bond, managing partner of Bond Legal. “Even minor collisions can cause serious injuries, making caution essential for all motorists.”

Bond, an experienced motorcycle accident attorney, noted that in cases such as this, having a seasoned lawyer conduct an independent investigation into the crash is essential to protecting the rights of the victim’s family.

“Blind spots, inexperienced drivers, and distracted motorists often cause these types of collisions. Serving as an advocate, Accident Injury News notes that an attorney can help compassionately guide a family during this difficult time, protecting their rights while ensuring that a driver is held accountable if they failed to obey traffic laws.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the family of the victim may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim. Families of wrongful death victims may be able to seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress that follows a tragic or catastrophic accident such as this one.

“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal.

“Families are put through so much in these situations, and having their rights protected is vital. A wrongful death lawyer stays on top of the ongoing investigation and works to make sure the family’s legal rights and best interests are safeguarded throughout.”
