GROVE TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A 23-year-old woman suffered critical injuries when a compact car and tractor-trailer collided at a rural intersection Wednesday afternoon.
Just after noontime, a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am traveled west on County Road 186 in Stearns County. At the same time, a 2018 Kenworth semi approached the same intersection heading southbound on Highway 4.
The Pontiac entered the intersection and collided with the truck.
One of the Pontiac’s passengers, 23-year-old Rinlita Amornwisanwong, was transported to Sanford Health Fargo with life-threatening injuries. The other passenger, a 22-year-old woman from an unknown location, also sustained critical injuries and was sent to the same hospital.
Emergency responders transported the Pontiac’s driver, a 23-year-old woman from Melrose, to CentraCare Sauk Centre with non-life-threatening injuries.
The truck driver, a 22-year-old man from Brownton, was not hurt in the crash.
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the cause of the wreck.
