YBOR CITY, FL (Nov. 9, 2025) – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a horrific pedestrian crash that killed four people and injured 13 others early Saturday in Ybor City.
According to troopers, a silver 2019 Toyota Camry was spotted street racing on I-275 around 12:44 a.m. When an officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled east on Seventh Avenue. The pursuit was terminated due to heavy pedestrian traffic, but surveillance continued.
Moments later, the Camry swerved to avoid a Jeep at Seventh Avenue and 15th Street, hitting a Mazda before crashing into pedestrians gathered outside Bradley’s Bar. Among the injured was Riley Hancock, who sustained 10 spinal fractures, six broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a lacerated liver. He also suffered a severe head wound requiring over 100 stitches and staples and remains hospitalized at Tampa General Hospital.
The 22-year-old driver tried to flee on foot but was captured. Authorities said he showed signs of impairment, and his blood sample is pending analysis. The suspect faces multiple felony charges.
