OZARK, Ala. — A 65-year-old Enterprise man died Sunday afternoon when a passenger vehicle struck his motorcycle on U.S. 231.
Rickey Hughes was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision near W. Roy Parker Road. Preliminary reports indicated that the car failed to yield the right-of-way to Hughes’ motorcycle.
The Ozark Police Traffic Homicide Division is leading the investigation with assistance from the Dale County Coroner’s Office. Alabama State Troopers and Dale County Sheriff’s deputies also responded to the crash site.
Officials have not released the identity or condition of the car’s driver. The exact time of the afternoon accident was not immediately available.
Multiple agencies worked to clear the scene and document evidence from the fatal collision. Investigators continue examining the circumstances that led to the right-of-way violation.
