GAINESVILLE, GA, (May 11, 2026) – A Hoschton man suffered injuries Monday morning in a collision involving a tractor-trailer south of Gainesville, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Authorities identified the injured driver as 69-year-old Richard Harris.
Investigators said the crash occurred at approximately 6:15 a.m. when a Kenworth T880 pulling a 48-foot trailer was traveling westbound on Candler Road and attempted to turn left onto State Route 60.
According to GSP, the 42-year-old driver of the semi-truck allegedly failed to yield while entering the roadway, causing Harris’ northbound Infiniti QX60 to collide with the left side of the trailer.
Harris was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not specified by authorities.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured and was cited for failure to yield while entering the roadway. The accident remains under investigation.
