GASTONIA, NC, (April 09, 2026) — A 37-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in Gastonia, authorities said.
According to the Gastonia Police Department, Reginald Lamar Barber was involved in a collision with another vehicle at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Shannon Bradley Road.
Barber sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in his vehicle was transported to a hospital with critical injuries.
No additional details have been released as Gastonia police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash. Investigators are working to determine the factors that led to the fatal collision.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Gastonia recorded 3,269 crashes and nine traffic fatalities in 2023.
