WINNETKA, Ill. — Authorities are investigating a fatal crash involving two pedestrians and a vehicle on May 2. The Cook County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene near Church Road and Meadow Road around 6 p.m.
Investigators said a vehicle struck two female pedestrians who were walking with an infant in a stroller. Emergency responders transported the child to the hospital in critical condition.
Raziyeh Sigary, 58, suffered severe injuries. Paramedics took her to the hospital, where she later succumbed. Another pedestrian also died from injuries sustained in the accident.
The driver and a passenger in the vehicle were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
The sheriff’s office said there is no indication of foul play, but the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
