Randy Meeks and Griffin Parker killed in Rogers semi-truck crash, OHP says

ROGERS, OK, (April 09, 2026) – Three people were killed Thursday evening in a tragic collision involving a rideshare SUV and a semi-truck in Rogers County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Authorities said the rideshare SUV was traveling northbound on County Road 4160 at approximately 8:48 p.m. when it approached U.S. Highway 412. Investigators reported the driver failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with an eastbound semi-truck.

After impact, both vehicles left the roadway, and the SUV overturned multiple times.

Passengers Randy K. Meeks, 66, and Griffin W. Parker, 47, both of Jenks, were pronounced dead at the scene. The 32-year-old female driver of the SUV also died in the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

According to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), nearly 40 percent of crashes occur at intersections, often due to failure to obey stop signs or traffic signals. Common causes include distraction, speeding, and driver inattention.

The NHTSA estimates that 39,345 people died in traffic crashes across the United States in 2024, including 642 fatalities in Oklahoma.

“Road conditions, visibility, and lighting are all possible contributing factors that must be carefully evaluated,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner with Bond Legal.

“Driver inexperience, blind spots, and distracted driving often contribute to these types of crashes. Attorneys can help families understand their rights while ensuring accountability,” Bond added.

“An accident reconstruction team may be needed to determine exactly how the crash occurred. These resources are essential for helping families pursue compensation for their losses,” she said.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the families of Randy Meeks and Griffin Parker may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Families may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following such a tragic accident.

“The grief after losing a loved one in an accident can be overwhelming,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal.

“We understand how difficult this process can be, and ensuring families’ legal rights are protected is essential. A wrongful death attorney will follow the investigation closely and help secure justice for those left behind.”
