RALEIGH, NC, (May 15, 2026) – A 54-year-old woman lost her life following a hit-and-run crash Friday night in Raleigh, according to local police.
Authorities said Nicole Shawnette White was attempting to cross New Bern Avenue at approximately 9 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle. Investigators stated that the driver fled the scene instead of stopping to render aid or provide information.
Emergency responders transported White to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite lifesaving efforts, she later succumbed to her injuries.
Police continue to investigate the fatal collision and are working to identify and locate the driver involved in the incident. No additional details regarding the suspect vehicle have been released.
