EL CERRITO, Calif. — A two-vehicle crash on May 24 along Interstate 80 left one person dead in El Cerrito.
The California Highway Patrol said a black Fiat and a white Mercedes-Benz collided on the freeway shortly after 6 p.m. The force of the impact caused the Fiat to overturn, seriously injuring its driver and front-seat passenger. EMS responded to the scene and provided aid to those involved.
Ragna Roksvag-Zanger, 81, was a passenger in the Fiat. CHP said she was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were transported to area hospitals with unspecified injuries.
CHP is leading the investigation into the accident and has asked the public for assistance in determining what led to the crash. Authorities encourage anyone with information to contact the CHP Oakland Area office.
