SAYRE, OK (June 25, 2026) — A 17-year-old Sayre driver was injured Thursday morning in a collision involving a commercial motor vehicle operated by Quartez Moore, 48, of Selma, North Carolina, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred at approximately 9:47 a.m. when Moore was attempting to turn left from southbound U.S. Route 283 onto the eastbound Interstate 40 on-ramp. During the maneuver, the commercial vehicle collided with a northbound vehicle driven by the unidentified teenager.
The teen, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, suffered unspecified injuries. Moore was not injured.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
