PLANT CITY, FL (April 4, 2026) – A 22-year-old Apopka man was arrested after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a reckless driving crash Saturday evening on Interstate 4 near Plant City.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Preston Nascimento was driving a Kia Seltos at high speeds while weaving through traffic on westbound I-4 around 7:20 p.m. Authorities say he attempted to cut across lanes when his vehicle struck a motorcycle, ejecting the rider onto the shoulder.
The motorcyclist suffered multiple serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. His identity has not been released.
Nascimento was not injured and remained at the scene. He was charged with reckless driving causing serious bodily injury and later released on bond.
Troopers are still searching for the driver of a silver Toyota Camry that fled the scene.
