CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Making U-turns on busy U.S. roadways can be particularly dangerous, often leading to serious crashes due to high traffic speeds and limited visibility. Data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) indicates that in 2023, 216 vehicles involved in fatal crashes were performing U-turns.

“Motorcycle riders are among the most vulnerable on the road since they lack protection such as airbags or reinforced structures,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 5,172 motorcyclists were killed in crashes in 2017, a slight decrease from 5,337 in 2016.
