PARKLAND, FL, (April 17, 2026) – Two men died early Friday morning after a vehicle plunged into a canal following a police pursuit in Parkland, authorities said.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, a 2025 BMW X1 involved in a pursuit ran off the roadway at a high rate of speed and entered a canal near Nob Hill Road and Loxahatchee Road at approximately 2:19 a.m.
Two passengers, identified as 32-year-old Jerome Turner and 31-year-old Kelby Broward-Richardson, were found in the canal and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 26-year-old man from Plantation, fled but was later located and arrested. He faces charges including sudden snatching with a firearm or weapon and resisting an officer without violence.
