Perry Clark Hurt in Crash During Lubbock Police Chase, Officials Say

LUBBOCK, TX, (October 15, 2025) – Lubbock police are investigating a pursuit-related crash that seriously injured a motorist on Oct. 15.

Perry Clark, 71, was seriously injured when a stolen vehicle fleeing from police struck his car at 54th Street and Slide Road.

According to authorities, officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle around 9:55 a.m. in the 2600 block of 34th Street. The driver refused to comply and led police on a chase. During the pursuit, officers attempted a vehicle containment maneuver, but the stolen vehicle struck a police car and continued south on Slide Road. The fleeing vehicle then collided with Clark’s car as he was turning west onto 54th Street.

The impact caused the stolen truck to flip multiple times before hitting a telephone pole. Clark was transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries. The 28-year-old driver of the stolen truck was taken to UMC with moderate injuries, along with three other occupants in the vehicle.

Additional details have not yet been released.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney and Managing Partner at Bond Legal, emphasized the importance of an independent investigation in such complex cases.

“It is crucial to determine the exact cause of these accidents. An attorney can review insurance coverage, hire expert witnesses, run background checks, and locate witnesses,” Bond said.

She added, “In addition to the police report, a lawyer can examine all factors that contributed to the crash. Serving as an advocate, an attorney helps guide an injury victim and their family through what can be a complicated and emotional process.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, Perry Clark may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim.

Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal, said, “Injured victims often seek compensation for medical expenses, future care, lost income, emotional trauma, and pain and suffering. Insurance companies can be indifferent to mounting costs, which is why an attorney is vital to ensure victims are fully protected and fairly compensated.”
