RIVERHEAD, NY (July 1, 2026) — An unidentified pedestrian was injured Wednesday night after being struck by a pickup truck on County Road 58 in Riverhead, according to police.
Investigators said the incident occurred at approximately 10:03 p.m. near BJ’s Gas Station. The pedestrian was allegedly struck by a 2021 Ford Ranger driven by 70-year-old James D’Aguanno.
Responding officers found the victim lying in the roadway with an apparent head wound. Emergency crews transported the pedestrian to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
