CHARLESTON, SC, (March 27, 2026) – A 78-year-old woman died Friday after being struck by a pickup truck in downtown Charleston, authorities said.
According to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office, Annelise Simmons was hit at the intersection of King and Broad streets. She was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina, where she succumbed to her injuries shortly after 9 a.m.
Officials said the crash remains under investigation.
