Pearle Davis killed after SUV hits building in Brooklyn NYPD

BROOKLYN, NY, (April 08, 2026) – A 76-year-old woman lost her life Wednesday evening in a single-vehicle crash in Brooklyn, according to the New York Police Department.

Authorities said Pearle Davis was a passenger in a Toyota RAV4 driven by a 33-year-old woman when the vehicle crashed into a building located on the grounds of Floyd Bennett Field along Flatbush Avenue.

Davis suffered fatal injuries in the impact and was pronounced dead.

Another passenger in the vehicle was injured and transported to a nearby hospital. The driver’s condition was not immediately released.

The crash remains under investigation by the NYPD.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

In many cases, the driver is responsible for single-vehicle accidents such as the one that took the life of Ms. Davis.

According to Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney, these types of crashes can result from driver error, speeding, impaired driving, or other unsafe actions. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) reports that about 53 percent of all fatal crashes in the United States involve a single vehicle.

In addition to law enforcement efforts, Bond emphasized that it is crucial to conduct an independent investigation as soon as possible to preserve evidence and protect the rights of the victim’s family.

“Beyond the police report, an attorney will carefully evaluate contributing factors,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national analyst with Accident Injury News. “An attorney has the resources to retain expert witnesses, perform driver background checks, locate witnesses, and assess insurance coverage. Acting as an advocate, a lawyer can guide a grieving family through this difficult time while protecting their legal rights and interests.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family members of Pearle Davis may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain, suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident.

“We understand what families are forced to endure, and ensuring their rights are protected is essential,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “A wrongful death attorney will stay informed about the official investigation and help make sure that the family’s best interests are represented. Relatives may pursue compensation for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following such an incident.”
