Patricia Bradley killed after truck hits pedestrians in Houston

HOUSTON, TX, (April 25, 2026) – A 73-year-old woman died after being struck by a pickup truck along West Little York Road in Houston, according to police.

The victim, Patricia Bradley, was among three pedestrians hit at approximately 9:25 a.m. in the 5651 block of West Little York Road. Authorities with the Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division said a red Ford F-150 traveling through a parking lot struck the group.

Bradley was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Two other pedestrians, a 95-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, were also injured and taken to area hospitals for treatment.

The 67-year-old driver of the pickup truck sustained injuries as well and was transported to a medical facility.

The crash remains under active investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Despite ongoing safety campaigns, pedestrian fatalities on American roads remain alarmingly high. These deaths are preventable—drivers can help stop them by being attentive whenever they are behind the wheel. Approximately 2,304 pedestrians were struck and killed by drivers on U.S. roads in the first half of 2024, the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) said in a report.

“In most cases, pedestrians have the right of way when crossing a street or intersection, even if they are not within a marked crosswalk,” said Candice Bond, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney.

Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal, emphasized that it is crucial to have an independent investigation conducted by an experienced attorney to help safeguard the rights of the victim’s family in situations like this.

“Factors such as road conditions, visibility of signage, and lighting conditions may all play a role and should be carefully reviewed.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

“It is almost always a driver’s duty to yield to any pedestrian,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal. The family of Patricia Bradley may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim.

“Surviving family members in wrongful death cases can seek compensation for loss of income and companionship, as well as for pain and suffering, funeral costs, and emotional distress following a tragic accident,” said Formica.

“Insurance companies frequently attempt to encourage quick settlements that may be far below the true value of a claim,” Formica added. “An attorney will strongly represent their client’s interests to help ensure fair compensation and proper treatment.”
