NACOGDOCHES, TX, (April 18, 2026) – Two Nacogdoches men were killed and another person was injured Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash at a county intersection, according to authorities.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that a northbound Toyota Corolla traveling on FM 941 failed to yield at a stop sign at approximately 9:54 a.m. The vehicle entered the path of a GMC Canyon traveling northeast on U.S. 59, resulting in a collision.
Christopher Rhoton, 18, of Nacogdoches, who was a passenger in the Toyota, was pronounced dead at the scene along with the Toyota’s driver. The driver of the GMC Canyon sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
