Nolan Geiger killed in North Georgia motorcycle collision

BLAIRSVILLE, GA, (April 11, 2026) – A 17-year-old Blairsville teen died Saturday afternoon following a motorcycle crash on U.S. 129 in Union County.

Authorities reported that Nolan Geiger was riding his motorcycle on Blood Mountain when it was struck by another vehicle. The collision occurred along a stretch of highway that runs over the eastern side of the mountain near Neel Gap.

Geiger was transported to Union General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Officials said the driver of the other vehicle, 22-year-old Thomas Annis of Suwanee, has been charged with second-degree homicide by vehicle and failure to maintain lane.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.

FATAL MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, has emphasized the importance of independent investigations following serious accidents. Such inquiries evaluate all possible contributing factors, including driver behavior, impairment, and roadway conditions.

Motorcyclists remain particularly vulnerable on U.S. roadways, as they are less visible to other drivers and face a higher risk of severe injury in a collision.

“Motorcycle accident victims injured due to another driver’s negligence may pursue a personal injury claim to recover damages,” said Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News. “When negligence results in a fatality, surviving family members may be eligible to file a wrongful death lawsuit.”

Bond added, “While financial recovery cannot replace a loved one, securing legal representation is critical. A wrongful death attorney works to support families and help restore stability after a tragic loss.”

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, motorcyclists are significantly more likely than passenger vehicle occupants to be killed in crashes per mile traveled.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, the family of Nolan Geiger may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. Compensation may include damages for loss of companionship, funeral expenses, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following such a tragic loss.

Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal, has emphasized the importance of legal representation for victims’ families.

“The emotional burden can be overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” Formica said. “We understand the challenges families face, and protecting their rights is essential. A wrongful death attorney will monitor the investigation and help ensure that the family’s legal interests are fully protected.”
