BIRMINGHAM, AL, (August 11, 2026) – Nigel Jamar Ramsey, 35, died Tuesday after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle on Crestwood Boulevard in Birmingham, according to the Birmingham Police Department.
The collision occurred at approximately 3:26 p.m. near Frederick Street, authorities said.
Ramsey was transported to UAB Hospital following the crash, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police did not initially release additional details about the circumstances surrounding the collision.
In 2023, motorcycle fatalities in the United States reached a record 6,335, accounting for 15% of all traffic deaths and marking the deadliest year since 1975, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The fatality rate was 31.39 deaths per 100 million miles traveled.
