GRANT, WA, (April 19, 2026) – A Sunday evening police pursuit near Moses Lake ended in a deadly head-on crash that left two people dead and injured a Warden man, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Authorities said a 2003 Toyota Corolla fled the scene of a felony hit-and-run at state Route 17 and Stratford Road around 4:45 p.m. Grant County Sheriff’s deputies initiated a pursuit as the vehicle traveled east on Road 3 Northeast. The chase ended at the intersection with Road U Northeast when the fleeing car crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a service truck.
Nevin J. Anderson, 24, the driver of the truck, was transported to Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officials said both occupants of the Toyota were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released pending family notification.
In the earlier hit-and-run incident, a 19-year-old Moses Lake woman was also injured and taken to Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Washington State Patrol Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the case due to the involvement of sheriff’s deputies in the pursuit. Investigators indicated that drugs or alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors.
