FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

The death of Ewing highlights the dangers motorcyclists face on U.S. roadways each day.

More than 6,000 motorcyclists were killed on American roads in 2022, police said, citing National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data. Those crashes accounted for 15% of fatal crashes that year. In 2017, motorcyclists were 27 times more likely than passenger car occupants to die in a crash per vehicle mile traveled.

Candice Bond, an experienced motorcycle accident attorney, said that in cases such as this, conducting an independent investigation is imperative to preserve evidence for a victim.

“Motorcyclists are arguably the most vulnerable motorists on the road, and several factors can contribute to fatal crashes. Blind spots, inexperienced drivers, and distracted motorists can often cause these types of collisions. An accident reconstruction team and even motorcycle manufacturing experts are usually needed to help piece together what happened,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

“All of these resources are necessary to help clients receive monetary compensation for damages following a collision. Your lawyer has the resources to hire expert witnesses, conduct drivers’ background checks, locate witnesses to the crash, and review applicable insurance coverage,” said Bond, who is also a national legal analyst for Accident Injury News.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family of Neal W. Ewing may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident such as this.

“We understand what victims must go through, and knowing and protecting your rights is vital. As experienced wrongful death lawyers, we will handle the process for you, provide current information about any ongoing investigation and proactively protect your legal rights and best interests,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal.

Formica noted that grieving families of victims can sometimes feel overwhelmed by the legal processes established to protect their rights. An attorney can serve as a valuable and compassionate resource, helping guide a family through this difficult time and ensuring those left behind receive the restitution they are entitled to.

“Insurance companies often try to pressure victims to accept a quick payout that is far less than the case is worth. They are financially motivated to limit compensation and may not account for the long-term consequences and suffering victims will experience. Attorneys vigorously advocate for their clients to ensure they are treated respectfully and compensated fairly,” said Formica.
